2D-Collimator
In a first test, we successfully printed a 2D collimator with boron carbide. It is not possible to produce such a compact product with a conventional film clamping technique. The housing is also made of boron carbide, which prevents an aluminum housing from causing gamma production. The wall thickness of the cross grid is 0.4mm.
In order to also demonstrate the geometric accuracy, an optical light measurement was performed in which the channels were illuminated over their entire length. The image shows that there are no impurities in the channels and that the grating is geometrically precise.
